IOLS- Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills
This one-and-a-half-day course is a combination of discussion and hands on experience designed to give adult leaders an introduction to many of the practical outdoor skills and safety policies needed to lead scouts in the out-of-doors. This course completes position training for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters who have taken the indoor portion of the training for these positions. IOLS will be held at Camp Cedars, Cedar Bluffs, NE, in Heritage Lodge.
Participants are required to be on-site for training from 9:00 AM Saturday to 9:30 PM Saturday and 8:30 AM to noon on Sunday.
When: Saturday, April 26, 9 AM- Sunday, April 27, 12 PM (noon)

Cost:

- Includes: Training facility and materials, Saturday lunch, dinner, cracker barrel, and Sunday breakfast
Required items include: • Medical Form A&B • Glasses/contacts/personal medication as needed • Backpack, duffle bag, or sports equipment bag for personal belongings • Tent, 2 ground cloths (1 inside & 1 underneath), sleeping bag & pad/mattress, pillow • Clothes suitable for the weather, 1 change of clothes, sleeping attire, sturdy shoes • Drinking cup and mess kit (plate, bowl, eating utensils) • Soap, washcloths, towel, personal toiletries • Sunglasses • Camp chair • Cell phone – fully charged • Watch And, the following ten essentials: 1. Pocketknife 2. Rain gear 3. Trail food 4. Flashlight 5. Extra clothing 6. First-aid kit 7. Sun protection 8. Map and compass 9. Matches and fire starters 10. Water bottle, filled with water 11.
