Eagles Nest Merit Badge Fair

Event Details

The Eagles Nest Merit Badge Fairs are an opportunity for scouts to work on Eagle-required merit badges in a group setting.

DISCLAIMER: It will not be possible to complete any of the merit badges in a single fair session.  Each merit badge will have either work to be done before the class, work to be done after the class, or both. If there is post-work, the scout will have approximately three months to complete the work before the next Eagles Nest Merit Badge fair at which time they can speak with the merit badge counselor to get their blue card signed off the for the completed requirements. Scouts also have the option to complete the rest of the badge with a different counselor (if they have one.)   

Each Scout will select one merit badge to work on during this session. Lunch will be provided

FAMILY LIFE:
Pre – 1 (create a diagram of your family. Will discuss in class), 2 (Interview family members and ask them to tell you why you are important to the family. Will discuss in class), 3 (have list of duties prepared to discuss in class. They will be done in post), 4 (discuss potential projects with family, they will be discussed in class and completed in post), 5 (discuss potential projects with family, they will be discussed in class and completed in post), 7 (Interview parent or guardian, ask them “what is a parent/guardian’s role and responsibility.” Will discuss in class)

 

COMMUNICATION:

Pre – 2 (will present in class), 3 (speech will be given in class), 4 (will present in class), 7A (bring letters to class), 9 (will discuss in class)

 

CAMPING

9 – Must have at least 15 out of the 20 camping nights already completed by Feb 13th to sign up for the course.

Pre – 2 (Will discuss in class), 3 (will discuss in class), 7 A and B (bring backpack with gear to present to counselor. This will also count for 5E), 8C (will discuss in class)

 

CITIZENSHIP IN THE COMMUNITY

Pre – 8 (presentation will be given in class)
