COPE at Campo Weekend

COPE (challenging outdoor personal experience) is a fun series of initiatives that involves both mental and physical challenges. Groups of 8 to 12 Scouts are presented with problems to be solved. The group must work together to come up with a solution and then execute the plan. COPE helps participants develop leadership skills through teamwork, trust, self-confidence, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. Scouts learn how to support each other, sharing ideas and working through disagreements to come up with an approach that everyone can support. Each initiative has a physical component such as balancing on a wire, lifting each other, spotting, guiding other participants, and more.
After each challenge, groups review what it took to succeed, and how the experience relates to their troop leadership roles.
Participants must be at least 13 years old and must wear close-toed shoes and long pants are recommended.
$30.00 covers camping and COPE training. Registration is limited to the first 24 youth.
