Cub Family Weekends

Event Details

Bring the whole family for an unforgettable weekend of Scouting adventure!

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Camp Old Indian provides the perfect setting for families to unplug, explore the outdoors, and create lasting memories together.

Join us for Cub Family Weekend, where Scouts, siblings, parents, and grandparents can experience the excitement of camp as a family*. Spend your days enjoying some of Camp Old Indian's most popular activities, including:

Archery
BB Guns
Slingshots
Fire Building
Fishing
Nature Walks and Exploration
An Evening Campfire Program

Whether you're introducing a new family to Scouting or continuing a long-standing tradition, Cub Family Weekend offers something for everyone. Make new friends, enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, and experience the fun and adventure that make Camp Old Indian a favorite destination for Scout families across the Upstate.

Accommodations

Families will be assigned to one of Camp Old Indian's campsites, featuring Adirondacks (open-front shelters with bunk beds) and selected cabins.

Meals

Families should plan to bring their own meals for Friday and Saturday. A complimentary breakfast will be available on Sunday morning before departure.

New this year! An optional Saturday meal plan option can be added on to your registration. For $20/pp, you will get a pancake breakfast, hot dog lunch, and baked ziti dinner. You must select this option when registering. Units are still welcome to prepare meals in their sites, and the schedule will be set-up to give time for this.

Pack your gear, gather your family, and join us for a weekend of adventure, laughter, and Scout spirit at Camp Old Indian!

*Due to National Safeguarding Youth Training policies, all parents and legal guardians are welcome to camp for the weekend. If other non-guardian adult family members would like to stay for the weekend, they must be registered adults in Scouting America.
