Okpik Winter Camping Training – January 17-18, 2026

Location: Gannett Lodge, Camp Massawepie – Tupper Lake, NY

Get ready for an unforgettable winter adventure! Join us for Okpik, the premier cold-weather camping training designed to prepare Scouts and leaders for safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences in freezing conditions.

This two-day, overnight training will be held at the historic Gannett Lodge at Camp Massawepie, located in the heart of the Adirondacks. Participants will gain hands-on skills in winter camping, gear selection, cold-weather cooking, shelter building, safety protocols, and leadership in challenging environments.

Who Should Attend: Scout leaders, older Scouts (14+), Venturers, and anyone preparing for cold-weather camping
Cost: TBD – includes meals, training materials, and lodging

What to Bring:
A detailed gear list will be provided after registration. Plan for winter gear, sleeping bag rated for low temperatures, layered clothing, and a sense of adventure!
