AKELA CUB WEEKEND

CUB SCOUT FAMILY CAMP

Join us at Hood Scout Reservation for some spooky fun at our 2022 Akela Cub Campout. Enjoy everything that Halloween has to offer, just in the outdoors. Activities to include Archery, BB, Canoeing, Rock Wall Climbing, Cooking contests, Gateway competitions, Costume contests, Games, Scavenger Hunts, and Crafts.

Families, please visit with your pack leadership and make sure that you are prepared for the weekend.  Make sure that you have reviewed the HSR Cub Scout Family Camp Guidelines and have a BSA Annual Health and Medical Form completed on each participant.

The Weekends schedule, Program Rotation, and Program Outline are available in the attachments.

*As a reminder, no meals are provided for participants. 

STAFF | VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

We are in need of volunteers and Troops to help with this event.   

TROOP | VOLUNTEER (STAFF) GENERAL INFORMATION 

• Meals will be provided starting Saturday Morning through Sunday Morning. 
• Troops & Volunteers (Staff) are asked to attend the AKELA CUB STAFF Meeting on Friday night at 9:30 PM in the dining hall. 
• Troops & Volunteers (Staff) are asked to stay until Sunday to help with clean-up after the Cub Scouts and their families have left.  
• Troops must have two-deep leadership leaders over the age of 21 and registered with the Boy Scouts of America. Any Scouts BSA Girl Troop must have at least one female leader over the age of 21 and registered with the Boy Scouts of America. 
• Everyone will have to have a copy of the Annual Health and Medical Record form (Parts A & B).
• Complete the Scouter's Code of Conduct.

VOLUNTEERS (STAFF)

If you have served on staff this year at the Spring Cuboree or at Summer Camp you do not have to complete and submit new forms. 

• ADULTS must complete and submit to the Scout Center prior to arrival at Hood Scout Reservation
  • Adult Leader Application | On the position description line "49-Adult Staff" 
  • Signed Criminal Background Authorization form
  • Copies of completed Youth Protection and Weather Hazard training certificates.
• YOUTH must at least 14 years old and first class, complete and submit to the Scout Service Center prior to arrival at Hood Scout Reservation
  • Adult Leader Application | On the position description line "49-Youth Staff" 
  • Signed Criminal Background Authorization form
  • Copies of completed Youth Protection and Weather Hazard training certificates.
