Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation Specifics Training

What/Who? BALOO training is a two part training. The first part is available online at my.scouting.org. The second part is an instructor-led course that is conducted at the Council level.This one and one-half day in person course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for those leaders (Cubmasters, Ass’t. Cubmasters, Den leaders, other pack leaders, and parents) who are interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. BSA's Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience. Both parts must be completed to get credit for this training.

Why? Completion of this course is mandatory for at least one adult on a Pack overnighter!

When/Where? Friday-Saturday, March 22-23rd – 3247 N. Oliver Wichita, KS 67220.  The weekend will begin with a 5:00 pm Check-In Friday evening. The class begins promptly at 6:00 pm. We plan to conclude by 6:00 PM Saturday.

Cost? $25 per person. Refunds are not available but may be transferred to another leader.

Saturday meals will be provided.

Registration? The deadline to reserve a seat for the class will be 5:00 PM Monday, March 18th, 2024.

Registration is online only. The registration link may be found on the

 http://www.quivira.org/training webpage, under Cub Scout Training. Online payment is required and can be made by credit card or electronic check.

What to Bring?  Scout Field Uniform, clothing commensurate to weather, rain gear, tent, sleeping pad or cot, flashlight, personal items kit, pocket knife, personal First Aid kit, chair, mess kit, a cup, a can-do attitude, and a smile!

Insurance? Liability, as well as Sickness and Accident Insurance, are provided for all registered BSA members of Quivira Council.
