Camp & View - Total Eclipse

Event Details

On April 8, 2024, at 3:06 p.m, Central Indiana will witness a rare and awe-inspiring celestial event - a total solar eclipse.  The sun, moon, and earth will align. This "syzygy" will put the sky into epic and unforgettable temporary darkness. Though the following solar eclipse will occur in the year 2044, Indianapolis will not be within the path of totality until the year 2153 - 129 years after 2024. So buckle up and plan your eclipse-viewing at one of our four Scouting camp properties .

The solar eclipse's peak of totality is predicted to last for 3 minutes and 46 seconds, starting at 3:06 p.m.

In honor of the Total Solar Eclipse, the Crossroads of America Council will be having an eclipse viewing event. All BSA members can come view an Annular Eclipse at any one of our four camp properties which are in the center of the path of totality. (Belzer is day of only)

Join the Crossroads of America Council for a weekend of camping and ending with the viewing of the total solar eclipse.  Come for the whole weekend or just the day!

Choose a camp location and you will be assigned a campsite based on availability for unit camping.
