Winter Klondike

When: February 23-25, 2024

Where: Golden Gate State Park, Reverend's Ridge Campground

Cost:

Scouts BSA & Adults - $30 per person

Webelos & AOL Scouts and Parent(s) Saturday ONLY - $10 per person

Staff (City Staff,Youth and Adults, OA) - $25 per person

Late Fee, Effective Wednesday, February 14th - $5 per person
(No Late Fee for Staff)

NO registrations after Friday, February 16th due to parks fee increases and pre-payment requirements for facilities.

City Host Sign-up deadline: January 26th. City meeting will be February 3rd or 4th.

Each participant must have the BSA Medical forms AB

Boy and Girl Troops must register seperately!

The Klondike Derby is a three-day winter camping event for Scouts and Venturers from the Wapiti District. Webelos/AOL & Parents can join for the day on Saturday. Activities include an all-day sled race between "cities" with a "gold-rush" days flavor sporting names such as Ft. Yukon, Fairbanks, Dawson, etc. Each city has a competitive specialty in Scout craft skills (cooking, pioneering, first aid, teamwork, fitness, and others). By combining the winter camping experience with the Scout-craft competitions, Klondike provides an opportunity to experience new challenges while having a great time. Troops are encouraged to participate in All-Seasons activities!

This year the Klondike Derby is again at the Reverend’s Ridge Campground in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Please note all instructions included in the guide carefully. Make sure your Scouts are well prepared, well equipped, and most of all, there to have fun.
