Klondike Derby 2025

WHO:  The Klondike Derby is currently open to Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouting youth.

WHAT:  The Klondike Derby is the premier snow and winter camporee offered in the Transatlantic Council. We will again be hosted at the amazing Kandersteg International Scout Centre, located deep in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

WHEN:  17-20 January 2025 (Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend)

WHERE:  Kandersteg International Scout Centre, Wagetiweg 7, 3718 Kandersteg, Switzerland

This year's theme is "Yeti Gone Wild"

On Saturday, we host a fun, round-robin style competition between Patrols. Scouts compete in a variety of scout-skill inspired challenges to earn gold nuggets to win the Klondike Derby Trophy. We have a fantastic winter campfire where Patrols/Troops perform their best skits and songs.

On Sunday, Unit Leaders have the opportunity to take their Scouts on winter sports activities. Many options are available and can be arranged through the KISC team. The guided and self-guided activities are outlined on the KISC website located in the Klondike Derby Event Guide.  

The Klondike Derby has something for everyone and is flexible to what you can accommodate. Are you only available for Saturday? Then just come for the day. Do you have Monday off for the MLK Holiday?  Why not stay and enjoy the mountains for a little while longer with our 3-Night Option?

Parent Portal

We have enabled the use of Parent Portal.  This allows the initial registration contact to provide unit parents with access to just their Scout's part of the registration, to make payments and complete data entry. Here is how it works:

• Start by clicking the Use Parent Portal checkbox.
• Print parent login credentials.
• Give parents one login credential for each of their participants (including themselves if they're one of the participants).
• Parents use these credentials to make payments and update data entry fields such as name, passport, dietary requirements, etc.

Registration closes December 15th or when we reach event capacity based on available sleeping facilities.
