2023 SCOUTS BSA GULF COAST COUNCIL MERIT BADGE UNIVERSITY

Saturday, August 12th!

Open to Scouts from all councils & districts

Come as a unit or participate individually

Local experts & leaders will teach 24 merit badges.

We currently have three open spots in Citizenship in Society for female scouts! Please contact Bonnie Tierney to register (btierney@valp.net).

Classes at Niceville High School (800 John Sims Pkwy E, Niceville, FL) and Okaloosa County Emergency Operations Center (100 College Blvd, Niceville, FL)

$20 per Scout if paid by 8/4/22. $25 per Scout if paid after 8/4/22. 

Check-in starts at 8:30 am and classes begin at 9 am in classrooms. Morning (am) classes will run from 9 am-12 pm & afternoon (pm) classes will run from 1-4 pm. Full-day classes will run from 9 am – 4 pm. ALL classes will break for lunch from 12-1 pm.

Register by troop or have your Scouts register individually. We will assume all participants report attendance to their unit leader. Scouts can take one full-day (6-hour) class or two 3-hour classes.

• Bring your own lunch, pen/paper and water bottle.

• Some merit badges will require work be performed outside of class.

• Scouts must participate in class. They will not get credit just for attending. Completing pre-requisites and reading the merit badge pamphlet/book is recommended/requested.

• Check for and complete the prerequisites before class. Updates will be posted on registration site. Permission slips may be required.

• Each building will have a check-in station opening at 8:30am. ALL participants MUST check-in before entering classrooms.
