Cub Scout Adventures Day - February 2024

Event Details

Join us on Saturday, February 24th for Cub Adventure Day at Camp Alpine! During this one-day event Cubscouts can participate in a variety of activities which can help them earn requirements for elective achievements. Cub scouts will be broken into age appropriate groups which will focus on two or more adventures. Specific adventures for each level cover are listed below... 

Location: Alpine Scout Camp, Activity Center
Date/Time: February 24th, 10:00AM to 3:00PM (Lunch Served at 12:00PM)
Participating Ranks: Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos & Arrow Of Light 
Meals: Lunch Included, participating adults can purchase lunch 

What are Cub Scouting Adventures? Cub Scouts earn Adventures that are specific to their grade and rank.  A number of Adventures must be completed to earn the badge of rank for each grade level. Adventures may be earned in any order.  Completion of adventures is how the aims of character, citizenship, leadership, and personal fitness are developed.

Adventure Electives Covered:


**Lion Adventures**

On Your Mark (AM)
Description: 
On your mark, get set... go! With your fellow Lions, you'll participate in an obstacle course, play team games and participate in a box derby race. 

Rumble in the Jungle (AM)
Description:
Learn about jungle animals, do arts and crafts participate in a jungle parade with the other animals in your den. 

Build it Up, Knock it Down (PM)
Description: 
Building something up and knocking it down is a lot of fun. It's not so much fun when it's done by a bully. Build structures with your fellow Lions as we talk about what it means to be built up and knocked down, both physically and emotionally. 


**Tiger Adventures**

Good Knights (AM)
Description:
For the realm! Tigers will become gallent knights and learn what it means to be of service to others. They will learn about the Scout Law, Code of Conducts and Service to Others. Tigers will also design a Coat of Arms and make their own shield showing their values. 

Tiger Tag (PM)
Description:
Tag! Your it! Tigers will learn what it means to be a good sport and how to celebrate their achievements. Tigers will participate in rally races and other exciting games. 


**Wolf Adventures**

Finding Your Way (AM) 
Description:
Learn about maps, how to read symbols and how to use a compass. Using what they learned, the wolves will be challenged to participate in a scavenger hunt. 

Adventures in Coins (PM) 
Description:
Learn about coins, mint marks and how coins are made. Wolves will also learn how to do coin rubbing and how to use this to research when the coin was made and where it was made. 


**Bear Adventures**

A Bear Goes Fishing (AM)
Description: Learn about fish in our area, how to use a fishing rod and the equiptment used to fish. Bears will have the chance to play games with fishing rods and practice proper casting methods using a variety of reel types. 

Marble Madness (PM)
Description:
Learn about marbles, the different types of games you can play with them and the types of marbles. Bears will create a marble race track and race against their fellow Cubs with their favorite marble. 


**Webelos & Arrow-Of-Light Adventures**

Engineer (AM)
Description: 
Learn about blueprints, how they are used to plan building projects and design your own project. Webelos will use the engineering skills they learn to make their own creation. 

Earth Rocks! (AM)
Description:
Learn about geology, how to identify rocks and how to search for rocks while on a rock hunt. Webelos will amke a mineral test kit and how to test minerals according to the Mohs scale of mineral hardness.
