Event Details

Why Wood Badge?

Some Scout units thrive because of strong, purposeful leadership. Wood Badge helps you develop that leadership clear vision, effective communication, teamwork, and follow-through—through hands-on learning and adventure.

What You’ll Gain

  • Stronger Scout units: Empower your team to deliver impactful programs.
  • Renewed passion: Rediscover the spark that brought you to Scouting.
  • Connections: Build lasting relationships with fellow leaders.
  • Deeper insight: Understand not just how Scouting works, but why it matters.
  • Practical skills: Learn communication, conflict resolution, servant leadership, and team development.
  • Broader impact: Apply lessons to your unit, workplace, family, and community.

The Experience

Wood Badge is a two-weekend immersive leadership experience in an active outdoor setting taking place August 7-9 and 22-23, 2026. Open to all registered adult Scouters with Safeguarding Youth Training and position training, no prior leadership experience required. After the course, you’ll set five goals to complete within 18 months with counselor support.

Accessibility

Don’t let cost stop you—many units and employers cover training, and scholarships are available. Contact Course Director Barry Kaul at gospeedbarry@gmail.com for details.

Wood Badge is where you strengthen your leadership, make a lasting impact, and grow with confidence.
