Life-to-Eagle Seminar

Choice of two 2021 seminar dates:
February 21, 2021 or September 28, 2021

WHO: Life Scouts who plan to work on the final steps towards the Eagle Scout rank, parents of those Scouts, Scoutmasters/Crew Advisors, any other appropriate unit leaders

WHAT: The Life-to-Eagle Seminar will cover the requirements a Life Scout must achieve with additional guidance on the Eagle Scout service project and final steps leading up to the Eagle Scout board of review.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 28, 2021, 7:00PM – 9:00PM via Zoom

COST: There is no cost to attend this seminar

TO PREPARE:

1. Familiarize yourself with the Eagle Scout Rank Application
2. Download and familiarize yourself with the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The seminar will also discuss the Eagle Scout board of review and subsequent court of honor. Scouts that participate in a Life-to-Eagle Seminar should feel prepared for the next phase of their Scouting journey.

The Life Scout will benefit from attending the seminar by understanding the work ahead of them to fulfill the requirements of the Eagle Scout rank and how to properly plan their timeline to accomplish those by either a self-imposed or age-related deadline.

A parent will benefit from attending the seminar by helping them understand the trail their son or daughter is traveling. If a parent knows the trail ahead, it will allow them to gauge when it is better to back off and let the Scout proceed on his or her own, or when encouragement is helpful. There are deadlines in Scouting, which this seminar will describe in detail. Attending the seminar allows you to be prepared with knowledge about the points that are important and, by the same token, empowers you to understand the things you don’t need to worry about.

Scout leaders can benefit greatly from attending the seminar. Scouting evolves constantly. It may have changed several times in the years since you experienced the Eagle trail as a youth. Attending the seminar, especially if you are an Eagle Scout Service Project Coach or Scoutmaster, will prepare you to advise Scouts wisely and guide them along the Eagle trail. It also provides you an opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion with trained, well-informed leaders.
