ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Cub Scout day camps are organized by the Mountaineer Area Council, Scouting America and conducted by volunteers from the local area.
  • Day camps are for youth entering the 1st through 5th grades the following school year. Participants entering Kindergarten or younger are not eligible to participate. Those entering the 1st grade (Tigers) must be accompanied by an Adult Partner during their participation. Although individual Cub Scouts are able to register and participate in any day camp, it is strongly encouraged for Cub Scouts to attend with their friends and adults from the same Den or Pack and for the Pack's camping coordinator to submit a single registration for all those attending.
  • Day camps are conducted by adult volunteer leadership who were trained and certified by Scouting America's National Camping School, and are accredited through Scouting America's National Camp Accreditation program. Day camps are also supported by a number of adult and youth staff members. Scouts BSA Den Chiefs may also support the day camp program by assisting the Cub Scouts throughout the camp. Adult volunteers make up the nucleus of the day camp staff by volunteering in positions to lead specific programs, support the general operation, or by managing a den of Cub Scouts throughout their time at camp.
  • Each participant and staff member MUST have a Scouting America Annual Health & Medical Record (i.e., health form), parts A & B to remain on-site. It is strongly recommended that the Pack leadership turn these in at the start of camp, to be returned back to the Pack leadership.
  • All youth and adults must bring a copy of their Annual Health and Medical Record, Parts A & B
  • Staff can register individually if you are not participating with a unit.
  • Youth Protection Training:  All adults are required to be current on their Youth Protection Training. This can be completed online prior to arrival online at www.My.Scouting.org. Please provide a copy of your completed YPT training certificate and bring to camp
  • Lions and Tigers must have an adult partner with them.
