Explore how today's environmental decisions shape tomorrow's world while working toward one of Scouting's Eagle-required merit badges!

Join Sustainability Merit Badge Counselors along with professionals from Tacoma Water, Tacoma Power, the City of Tacoma, Pierce Conservation District, and Pierce County for a hands-on day of learning about energy, water, natural resources, waste management, and the important role each of us plays in building a more sustainable future.

Throughout the day, Scouts will engage with subject matter experts, participate in discussions and activities, and complete many of the requirements for the Sustainability Merit Badge.

Prerequisite Requirements

To make the most of this program, all Scouts must complete Requirements 4c and 8a prior to Merit Badge Day. These requirements will not be completed during the event.

Please note that while many requirements will be completed during the day, some Scouts may need to finish additional work with the Merit Badge Counselor after the event to earn the badge.
