Registration opens 9/21/26 Space is limited

Health U Merit Badge University is hosted by the Presbyterian Healthcare Advanced Learning Lab and High Desert Council. Scouts are offered a set of Health Merit Badges that will be either partially earned or completed on the day of the event (contingent upon the completion of pre-requisites prior to the Merit Badge University). Scouts will be able to enroll in the Merit Badge class of their choice, get a chance to learn about healthcare by touring the learning laboratories, participate in a health fair and meet staff who work at the Presbyterian Healthcare Advanced Learning Lab. 

Merit Badges offered are:

• Dentistry - Learn how having healthy teeth will help a person to eat, and speak. Teeth do a lot more than just peek out from that winning smile.
• Disabilities Awareness - Understand various disabilities and how they affect your friends, family and community members. 
• Health Care Professions - Scouts will learn how professionals in different health care fields work together to keep people healthy. 
• First Aid (2 classes offered) - This Eagle Required merit badge teaches first aid - caring for injured or ill persons until they can receive professional medical care. 
• Public Health - Learn how to maintain and monitor the health of communities, and with the detection, cure, and prevention of health risks and diseases. 

Adult Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers in classrooms, as well as adults who work in health care professions to be interviewed by Scouts for the Health Care Professionals Merit Badge. Please let Jessie Brown know your interest at 505-710-3277 or jessie.k.brown@icloud.com.

12:45 pm - 1:15 pm Health Fair and Exploration of Learning Laboratories

1:15 pm - 3:30 pm Session 2 of Merit Badge Instruction
