THIS EVENT IS FOR TROOP YOUTH ONLY NOT INTENDED FOR CUB SCOUTS.

Event Details: STEM Merit Badge University hosted by the University of New Mexico School of Engineering and High Desert Council. Scouts are offered a set of STEM Merit Badges that will be either partially earned or completed on the day of the event (contingent upon the completion of pre-requisites prior to Merit Badge College). Scouts will be able to enroll in one Merit Badge class of their choice, and get a chance to learn about the UNM School of Engineering. Enrollments will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.

Schedule for the Day for Scouts:

8:30 am - 9:00 am Check In

9:00 am - 9:30 am Welcome and UNM Engineering Overview

9:30 am - 12:00 pm Session 1 of Merit Badge Instruction

12:00 pm - 12:45 pm Lunch 

12:45 pm - 1:15 pm STEM Activity

1:15 pm - 3:30 pm Session 2 of Merit Badge Instruction

3:30 pm - 4:00 pm Wrap up and next stages

Registration Details:

• CLASS A (FIELD UNIFORM) REQUIRED
• Cost: $15.00 Includes patch and a Lunch!
• Lunch will be Dion's Pizza and Salad (If you have any allergies/food sensitivities please plan on bringing a sack lunch- refrigeration will NOT be available)
• Students per MB Class: 20 Students

Cancellation Policy- Refunds for all Council events are generally unavailable, except for:

• Cancellations prior to 30 days before an event 
• A death in the immediate family (parent, sibling, grandparent) 
• Medical situations, with a note from a Doctor for the participant 
• All refunds will be subject to a 20% admin fee. Failure to ensure a participant is not eligible for an event will not qualify for a refund. 
• Refund requests will be reviewed by the appropriate volunteer committees. 
• Requests received after the event or for “no shows” will not be honored
