Circle Ten Council’s annual Winter Camp at Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp is a special jamboree-style camping event for Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, and Sea Scout Ships
It is the largest annual event put on by Circle Ten Council and is staffed by 
Circle Ten’s Mikanakawa Lodge 101 of the Order of the Arrow.

  • Units camp jamboree style with multiple units in a single campsite.
  • The chance to make new friends from outside your immediate Scouting circle is one of the key rewards. 
  • Food is prepared by each unit in their campsites with the option to pay for a staff prepared Dinner on Day 4.

EVENT DETAILS

Location: Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp, 11217 FM 2970, Athens, TX 75751
Cost:  $85 per youth
          $75 per adult leader

FINAL payment due by Dec 12. After Dec 12, there will be a $15 late fee per person. Please refer to Circle Ten Council refund policy.

Documents Required at Check-In: 

  • Troop roster (must be official roster downloaded from my.scouting.org.  All persons attending Winter Camp must be currently registered members of Scouting America with valid SYT credentials (aka YPT)
  • Annual Medical Health Record AB&C (C needs to be signed and dated on or after January 1, 2025)
  • Copy of Weather Hazards training certificate (every adult MUST be trained)
  • Adult In State Compliance Form (every adult MUST complete this form)
  • We encourage units to upload the troop roster, Weather Hazards training and Adult In State Compliance prior to arriving at camp.

CANCELLATIONS:
All cancellations must follow the Cancellation & Refund Policy (HERE).

Each morning, Scouts can:

  • Work on merit badges
  • Participate in C.O.P.E. (NEW THIS YEAR* for Scouts age 14+)
  • Take part in special living history programs in the Mountain Man area (14+)
  • Learn new program skills or participate in a training

Afternoons offer a wide-range of activities including:

  • ATV experience (*NEW THIS YEAR* - 14+ and certification required)
  • Competitive games and sports
  • Range and target activities
  • Climbing and rapelling
  • Activities in the living history areas - Indian Village, Lumberjack, Mountain Man
  • Branding
  • Trail rides
  • Pen making
  • Ziplining (*NEW THIS YEAR*)
  • And more! 

Evenings include special events like:

  • Opening Campfire - Day 1
  • An OA Brotherhood Walk - Day 2
  • A Movie Night - Day 2
  • A Camp Staff Reunion / Honor Society Social - Day 3
  • Cowboy Action Competition - Day 3
  • Miki Q BBQ Dinner - Day 4
  • Closing Campfire - Day 4
  • Star watch parties - nights vary depending on weather
  • Or just relaxing in the campsite around the campfire

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Registration OPENS September 1st at 10:00 a.m.
  • Leader's Meeting will be Wednesday, October 15th at 7:00 p.m. both online and in person at the John D. Murchison Scouting Center. 
  • Program sign up OPENS November 17th at 10:00 a.m. (merit badges, ATV experience, trail rides, pen making, ziplining, training, etc)
  • Winter Camp Merch Pre-Orders CLOSE November 19th. Go to https://councilstuff.com/571/?category=5033 and order your stuff today!!!
  • FINAL Payment DUE Friday, December 12, 2025 - $15 Late Fee added after this date.
  • Registration CLOSES Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 11:00 p.m.
  • Final Campsite assignments will be made and communicated on Tuesday, December 23rd
  • Day 1 (December 27) - Gates open at 8:00 a.m. Check In opens at 9:00 a.m.

**Due to the popularity of this camp and the space constraints we have, a spot must be paid for IN FULL to be held. 
**Boy Troops and Girl Troops MUST each have their own unit reservation even if they would like to camp together.
