2021 Palmetto Council Cub Scout Summer Activities

This year's summer activities will take the place of our traditional Cub Scout Day Camp. This event will allow your Cub Scout multiple opportunities to participate in activities all summer long. More information on each session is listed below. Please Note - Lunch will NOT be provided for any of these events.

Canoeing at Chester State Park

• June 5, 2021 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am OR 11:15 am - 12:45 pm OR 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
• July 10, 2021 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am OR 11:15 am - 12:45 pm OR 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
• August 14, 2021 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am OR 11:15 am - 12:45 pm OR 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
• Fee: $15/Scout; No charge for parents to attend
• Location: Chester State Park (759 State Park Road, Chester, SC  29706)
• Additional Information: All Scouts MUST be accompanied by an adult over 21 at all times. Be prepared to pay an additional park fee in cash as you enter the park ($3 for adults - ages 16+; $1 for Youth - ages 6-15; $0 for Youth - ages 0-5). Activities will include basic canoeing safety, instruction, and canoeing. Canoes, paddles, and PFDs will be provided for you. Bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen.
• Limit of 20 participants per session.

Fishing at Bethelwoods Camp & Conference Center

• June 19, 2021 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am OR 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm OR 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
• June 26, 2021 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am OR 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm OR 2:30 - 4:00 pm
• Fee: $10/Scout. No charge for parents.
• Location: Bethelwoods Camp & Conference Center - 922 W. Mt. Gallant Road, York, SC  29745
• Additional Information: All Scouts must be accompanied by an adult over 21 at all times. Activities will include basic fishing instruction and safety, basic first aid, and fishing. Fishing poles and worms will be provided. Bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen.
• Limit of 30 participants per session.

Shooting Sports at Bethelwoods Camp & Conference Center

• July 9, 2021 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am OR 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm OR 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
• July 10, 2021 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am OR 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm OR 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
• Fee: $20/Scout. No charge for parents.
• Location - Bethwoods Camp & Conference Center - 922 W. Mt. Gallant Road, York, SC  29745
• Additional Information: All Scouts must be accompanied by an adult over 21 at all times. Activities to include basic BB and Archery instruction and safety, BB shooting and Archery shooting. All materials will be provided for you. Bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen.
• Limit of 16 participants per session.

Rocket Launch at Westminster Park

• July 17, 2021 (weather make-up day if needed will be July 24, 2021)
• Lions & Tigers - 9:30 am - 11:00 am
• Wolves & Bears - 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
• Webelos & AOLs - 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
• Fee: $25/Scout. No charge for parents. (any family member who would like to build and launch a rocket will need to pay the $25 fee)
• Additional Information: All Scouts must be accompanied by an adult over 21 at all times. Activities include building and launching a rocket. All materials will be provided. Bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen.
• Limit of 25 participants per session.

Bicycle Rodeo at The Criterion Course in Rock Hill

• September 18, 2021 - 9:00 am - 10:00 am OR 10:00 pm - 11:00 am OR 11:00 1m - 12:00 pm 
• Fee: $15/Scout. No charge for parents.
• Additional Information: All Scouts must be accompanied by an adult over 21 at all times. Activities include basic bicycle maintenance, basic first aid, agility obstacles, and trail ride (determined by age and/or cycling ability). Bring your bicycle, helmet, water bottle, and sunscreen.
• Limit of 30 participants per session.
