  • Cost: $162 per site for the weekend (includes patches)

  • Parking: a shuttle service will be provided once gear is unloaded from other vehicles to take drivers from the parking lot at the front of the Park back to their campsite. We ask that should you be arriving after 9:00 PM to please call Tim Combs at 704-661-3957.
  • To maximize site usage for campers we will maintain vehicles other than truck/trailer at the parking lot.  With the openness of MBTP sites NOT having a lot of extra vehicles parked in sites at all angles will allow better visual to insure the safety of our scouts; this should be a priority for everyone.
  • All participants (youth and adult) must camp and register with a unit
  • Unit leaders are responsible for all registration thru Palmetto Council.
  • Beach Sweep patches are guaranteed for youth participants; adult patches distributed if extras remain
  • Contact persons:  Sandi Patrick 839-235-0436, Tim Combs 704-661-3957

Why Myrtle Beach Travel Park?

This year’s new location offers more spacious campsites—free from trees and roots—making it easier to set up and fit multiple tents per site.  Plus MBTP has offered to have two of their staff members lead our youth in crafts and games from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon including: water balloon toss, tug of war, capture the flag, shell painting, parachute craft, suncatcher craft, etc.

Arrival Instructions:

  • Do NOT stop at the Myrtle Beach Travel Park office.
  • Prior to driving down to the beach each vehicle should be given a small window pass (passes will be emailed to each Unit contact person to be distributed to their drivers) needed for the MBTP guard.
  • Upon arrival, you’ll greet the guard at the MBTP entrance, show the guard your pass and this notifies the guard that the vehicle occupants are with Palmetto Council.   Next you will drive in keeping to your right directly to Sites 538/539 where a Council volunteer will greet you and get you headed to your campsite(s).
  • Once checked in proceed to your campsite and unload your vehicle (truck/trailer combo exception) and then please immediately drive your unloaded vehicle to our designated parking area.  A shuttle will get you immediately back to your site!
  • Sandi Patrick, Tim Combs plus others will be on-site at 538/539 to assist with check-in.
  • A map showing the exact layout and directions to our campsite area and pavilion will be sent out closer to the event date. You may also view or download the map HERE.

Campsite selection process:

With the fact that all MBTP sites are basically identical in our designated area, camp sites will be assigned on a first registered - first assigned basis. There is no need to choose sites as before at Lakewood.  Upon your Units registering you will be asked how many sites are needed and you will be assigned that number of sites.  There are no advantages nor disadvantages to any of the sites.
