When: April 26-27 (8:00 am - 8:00 pm on Saturday; 8:00 am - 12:00 pm on Sunday)
Where: GOLS
Cost: $175 per person for Scouts and $200 for non Scouts
Maximum: 12 Attendees, must be age 14+ to attend
Sign up closes April 23rd.
Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday and snacks will be provided on Sunday.
Participants may bring camping gear to stay on property overnight on Friday and Saturday at no additional cost (please email Jacob.Ryan@scouting.org to confirm a camping spot).
Description:
Learn how to be prepared for unforeseen circumstances in this hands-on wilderness first aid training including CPR, AED. and administring an Epipen. During this two-day course you will learn the Patient Assessment System, how to provide effective first aid treatments for common outdoor injuries and illnesses, and how to make appropriate evacuation decisions. Instruction will take place both indoors and outdoors regardless of weather, be prepared for any condition. Course completion results in a Wilderness First Aid certification.
Participants are encouraged to bring materials to take notes with, extra layers, and changes of clothes. A complete packing list will be sent out to registered participants prior to the training. Special effects makeup will be used and may stain clothing.
