2020 Daniel Morgan Hub City Hunt

Beginning Location: Palmetto Council Service Center (420 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC  29306)

Cost: $15 per scout participating (no charge for famiily members)

This year's Hub City Hunt will allow you and your Scout to have fun while going on a scavenger hunt in Downtown Spartanburg. You will begin your hunt at the Palmetto Council Service Center where your Scout can participate in BB's and Slingshots.Before leaving the service center, your Scout will receive their "Clue Card" which will contain clues on items they should look for downtown. Once the Scout completes their "Clue Card", they can return them to the Palmetto Council Service Center and they will receive a grab bag. Grab bags will include a craft or STEM project, a patch and a smores kit. Clue Cards will also be used for drawings during the day for various prizes. The winner of each drawing will be posted on the Daniel Morgan District FaceBook Page. Before you begin the Hunt, you'll want to make sure you download the Groupme app. This is where you'll post pictures of you and your scout having fun looking for clues. You'll also be able to ask questions through this app if you're having trouble finding the clues.

ScoutsBSA members will also be able to participate in a Zoom based webinar Cooking Show at 6:00 pm that events. The webinar will include step by step instructions for completing their dinner. A list of ingredients needed will be emailed to each Scout prior to, so they can be prepared to cook their own dinner at home. In order to partcipate in this event, you'll need to pre-register for the webinar using the link below:

Cub Scouts and ScoutsBSA members will be able to join a Zoom Webinar showing them how to make the BEST S'mores at 7:00 pm that evening. They can use the s'more kit they received in their grab bag as well as other ingredients they may already have at home. Each participant will need to pre-register for this webinar using the link below:

There will also be a Zoom Webinar Campfire for families to particpate in at 8:00 pm that evening. You will need to register in advance using the link below. All Cub Scouts and ScoutsBSA are asked to "camp out" in their backyard or make a tent in their home following the campfire.
