2023 Scouts BSA Council Camporee 

‘Patrol Site Bragging Rights’ & Games Galore 

The Palmetto Council Spring Camporee/Expo is set for 5 p.m. Friday, April 14 through 11 a.m. Sunday, April 16 at Camp Conley Clarke in Gaffney, SC. This event will focus on unique, eye-catching patrol campsites. Registered troops will have their full campsite for 'regular' camp life as well as a reserved site to create their 'model' patrol campsite.  

Troops are encouraged to work on camp gadgets, well-pitched and organized tents, safe and clean kitchens, artistic patrol flags, and well-constructed, innovative gateways. Each troop will have all of Saturday morning to set up its patrol campsite. Judging will take place starting at 11:30 a.m. Scouts will have a few hours for lunch, followed by three hours of Scout activities, including some shooting sports, outdoor fun and classic Scout games. An Appetizer Cookoff on Saturday afternoon will give everyone a chance to create (and maybe eat) the best appetizer in Camp Conley Clarke history. If the patrols wish to demonstrate some Scout skill in their model campsite during the judging, so much the better. Our leader's guide is available, and more details and information about the camporee will be published closer to the event.
