Horseshoe Scout Reservation

The 2024 Klondike Derby at Horseshoe Scout Reservation is an annual tradition where Scouts enjoy winter camping, scout skills challenges, and fun! This year we have a change of venue to allow better flow of traffic and parking -- the Klondike Derby’s day events will be held at Camp Horseshoe instead of Camp Ware.

Winter X Games is the 2024 theme. Patrols, design your sleds to match a country that competes at the Winter X Games. A variety of host nations (troops) will be running each of the events. Patrol Leaders prepare your winter and scouting skills to test against other patrols. Many of the traditional skills from previous Klondike Derbys will be featured again with some potential new stations. See if your team can make it to the podium!

Register online here through January 10, 2024 or by Dec 22, 2023 to get the early-bird rate! Come for the day or the weekend and enjoy the challenges planned for you. Both indoor and outdoor camping is available at both Camp Horseshoe and Camp Ware. Camping assignments are based on a first come first serve basis. For questions email: Klondike@cccbsa.org.

INDOOR CAMPING IS CURRENTLY FULL. PLEASE REGISTER FOR OUTDOOR CAMPING OR DAY ONLY.

Lunch will not be provided for this event. Please make arrangements to pack lunch in for the day.

The Program Guide with information on each event is available at the link on the right. Please print and use to prepare for event activities and any supplies you may need to bring to make this a successful event for your unit.

Final Rosters
Email a your final roster with patrol name(s) before 1/10/24 to Klondike@cccbsa.org.

Indoor Camping
$25.00 per Scout, Webelos/AOL, Leader, or parent - choose Horseshoe or Ware
(Cabins will be assigned on first-come basis and you could be sharing space. Units will be informed of cabin assignments by or before 1/15/24)

Outside Camping
$15.00 per Scout, Leader, or Parent (No Webelos or Arrow of Light) - choose Horseshoe or Ware

Day Event Only (No Camping)
$10.00 per Scout, Webelos/AOL, Leader, or parent

Late Fees
Any registrations after 12/22/2023 will be charged a $5 late fee per person.
