This one-and-a-half day course (Aug 24th 6pm - Aug 25th 5pm)  is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack/Webelos Den activities.  The new BALOO course incorporates the material in the previous BALOO and OWLS courses including an overnight camping experience and adds an online pre-requisite component taken through https://my.scouting.org/ prior to participants attending the overnight BALOO course.  

The online component consists of eight learning modules designed to provide you with the knowledge base prior to taking the BALOO Overnight Course and is required training to complete prior to attending the outdoor course. These eight online modules can be completed either all at once or over few days/weeks so long as all eight modules are completed prior to the BALOO Overnight Course.

Participants taking the new BALOO Course will benefit from this hands-on camping experience, gain an understanding of BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies and learn about the necessary tools and best practices to help Packs carry out a successful camping experience. Remember- at least one adult leader must be BALOO-trained in your Pack to participate in a Pack Overnighter.

You will need to bring camping gear, as this is an overnight training.
