G.A.M.E.S. Training

Event Details

Lake Erie Council Presents:

Adult Scouters give so much to make their units and programs the best they can be. It's very hard work, and let's be real: it isn't always enjoyable.

This training day is a chance to not only practice and learn new skills, but also to network with other Scouters from across the Council (and maybe beyond), as well as to HAVE FUN while you're learning!

Built on the premise of previous Baden-Powell Institutes or University of Scouting opportunities, our theme for this training is G.A.M.E.S. (Getting Adults More Expertise in Scouting). Our promise is that each session taught at this training will be interactive and engaging! You as the participant will play some sort of game in each training session as instructed by the presenter. It's going to be fun!

Each participant will be able to learn from up to 6 GAMES over the course of the day! Please note: the cooking courses, and the ILST course, will each take longer than 1 hour, thus reducing the total amount of courses a participant will be able to take.

There will also be a Midway with a lot of information and access to experts in the realms of: NYLT, WOOD BADGE, Recharter, summer camp opportunities, Unit Positions and How they should operate, How to you start a new unit, disABILITIES in Scouting, Recruitment, Awards and Recognitions for adults, Religious Emblems for youth and adults, and more!

Breakfast snacks, water, coffee, and lunch will be provided.

Childcare is available to parents as well. (Future) Scouts must be at least 3 years old and potty trained to be eligible for the daycare program.

Please fill out the BSA AHMR Medical/Release form Sections A/B for all youth and adults.
