Skilled Trades Day

Skilled Trades Merit Badge Workshops and Career Connections
We are thrilled to announce that our brand new, state-of-the-art Dever Family Foundation Skilled Trades Education Center at Camp Friedlander is open! This center provides a safe, effective, and unique venue to introduce, educate, and instruct Scouts in skilled trades and the fulfilling careers they offer.
Join us for a fun and hands-on workshop dedicated to exploring the world of trade skills. This event will provide an opportunity to learn new skills, earn trade skills merit badges, and explore exciting career paths.
Career Connections
Many youth today feel boxed into a single narrative and worry about crushing debt, whether their talents are valued, whether there is a place for them in the future economy. The new Skilled Trades Education Center is a place where futures begin, where curiosity meets confidence, where opportunities are uncovered.
To help each Scout and their parents explore what the best options are post high school, we will be hosting a special presentation to kickoff the merit badge instruction. Experienced business leaders from both Dan Beard Council and Junior Achievement will be sharing recent facts on the reality of the job market, colleges and career options as well as providing practical resources to help determine what's right for you.
We would like each Scout and their parents to attend this important session. The presentation will be held from 8:30-9:30AM.
Scouts can attend a morning and afternoon session and take:
