Who: Any Adult Leader interested in becoming an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer.
Short Description : Develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
More Details: This course is nine hours long and is conducted in a classroom and at a shooting facility. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and a Course Evaluation form. Upon successful course completion, students will receive an NRA RSO certificate.

This is the 9 hour course for NRA certified range safety officer course. This course will certify you as a NRA Range Safety Officer.
What to bring:
Please bring your NRA Membership card and/or NRA Instructor card if you already are a member and/or instructor.
Please bring your BSA membership number or card if you are a Scouter.
NRA fees for Instructor Certification processing and certification are now done all on-line at the nrainstructors.org web site.
NRA memberships are available on line at NRA.org web site.
