Cub Scout Leaders Opportunities

Are you a new Den Leader with questions? Are you a parent who wants to help, but doesn't know where to start? Would you like to collaborate with other Cub Leaders and share best practices?

The DBC Training committee wants to help! We are offering 2 programs to help answer all of your questions.

*Both events free and walk-ins are welcome, but registration helps us plan and be prepared.

#1. Den Leader Blitz

We would like to have a 1-1 ½ hour discussion / presentation to help kick off your journey as a new Cub Leader

We will have Q&A, as well as topics on the following:

• Introductions
• What do the participants want to get out of this?
• Cub Program Highlights
• What Den Leader training can do for you
• Tools to help you
• Supplies you might want
• Additional training to help you on other scouting related events and topics

You only need to attend one of these events either live at the Dan Beard Council Scout Achievement Center or remotely via Zoom:

#2. The Cub Scout Learning Lounge 2025

Please join us for our Cub Scout Learning Lounge.  This is like a book club, where we are asking Cub Scout Den Leaders to watch some training videos on my.scouting.org, then we will get together at the Scout Achievement Center or Zoom, for a discussion and a Question and Answer session.

Why do this?  It’s an opportunity to watch the online training videos at your own schedule during the month, then ask questions, have discussions and share best practices.

Here is our Cub Leader Learning Lounge schedule:

• Please watch the "Before the First Meeting" modules for your leadership position in August - early September – The first discussion session is September 11th 7:30-8:30pm.
• Please watch the "Before First Outdoor Activity" sometime Mid-September to early October – The second discussion session will be October 9th from 7:30-8:30pm.
• Please watch the "Earning Your Training Strip" sometime Mid-October to early November – The third discussion is November 13th 7:30-8:30pm.
