2025 University of Scouting & College of Commissioner Science
Event Details

We look forward to having you attend on November 8th, 2025 as we FALL INTO TRAINING!
What is the University of Scouting?
The University of Scouting is the largest supplemental training course offered by Great Trail Council to Scouting volunteers at all levels. During this fun-filled day, experienced volunteer leaders will present programs to help you improve your skills and expand your knowledge. You will also meet other leaders, gather new resources, and share ideas on building the best possible program for your Scouts.
What is the College of Commissioner Science?
It is a continuing education experience in a college environment designed to help commissioners keep up to date with the newest training materials and problem-solving techniques to help units deliver a quality Scouting program. All Commissioners should attend this nationally recognized program annually. This program has a four-year cycle; Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate Degrees can be earned. Those with their doctorate or taking a break in the degree process will take courses in Continuing Education. Continuing Education is the annual in-service training for all commissioners to stay current.
Commissioners from any council are welcome and must pay their registration fee here. You will choose which day-long program you want from Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate, and Continuing Education. For more information about the College, degree requirements, reciprocity with other council colleges, the courses being offered, and progress tracking, please visit college.GTCscouting.org.
All commissioners should track all of their college training with the Personal Project Record Excel Form at this link and also available on the college website.
