East Carolina Council Fall Camporee

Event Details

The East Carolina Council Fall Camporee 2026, “Scouting Through the Ages: 250 Years of American Spirit,” is a weekend-long celebration of classic Scoutcraft, leadership, patriotism, and outdoor adventure. Held October 2–4, 2026 at Camp Boddie, this camporee honors both the 250th anniversary of the United States and the foundational roots of Scouting.

Scouts will compete in patrol-based challenges inspired by the early days of Scouting and America’s frontier heritage. Activities include firecraft, pioneering, first aid, signaling, marksmanship, navigation, obstacle courses, and citizenship challenges designed to reinforce teamwork, leadership, and traditional outdoor skills.

Throughout the weekend, patrols will test their abilities in themed competitions such as the Frontier Firecraft Challenge, Revolutionary Relay, First Class Journey, and Trail of the Minute Men. Scouts will also participate in a cast iron cooking competition featuring period-inspired meals from Revolutionary War, frontier, and early Scouting eras.

Special events include an opening campfire program, the campwide “Founders’ Quest” adventure game, a Scouts’ Own service, and recognition ceremonies for outstanding patrols and Scout spirit. Awards include the Honor Patrol of the Camporee, Spirit of 1776 Award, and Founders Scoutcraft Award.

This event is designed to strengthen patrol method, encourage youth leadership, and celebrate the enduring values of Scouting through hands-on experiences rooted in history, service, and adventure.
