The Fishawack District’s Annual Scouts BSA Klondike Derby.
Scout Patrols will drag or push Klondike sleds over a predetermined route, testing their Scouting knowledge, skills, teamwork, physical endurance, and mental ingenuity.

Where:
Camp Somers at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation - 750 Waterloo Road, Stanhope.

When:
Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Registration dates:
Units must register from December 5th – January 28th.
Scouts registered after January 28th will cost $35 each.

Cost:
$25 per Scout. There is a 3-adult minimum per troop at no charge. All other adults staying with a Troop must register and pay $25. Only registered adults may camp overnight.

Troop volunteers that are working at a town are considered Staff and exempt from the $25 Fee. Members of Staff must register as such.

LATE REGISTRATIONS AND WALK-INS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM TROOPS THAT HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED BY JANUARY 28th.

NO OTHER LATE REGISTRATIONS OR WALK-INS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Each Troop must register 3 adult leaders.  Additional leaders are encouraged to attend. Adults must not follow sleds.

Check in on February 7, 2026 starts at 7:45 am. (bring two copies of your roster to check in). 

Opening ceremony is at 8:45 am. 

Competition Closes at 3:30 pm.

Awards will be announced at 4:30 pm.

This is a day event, but cabins and campsites are available for troop camping. To make a reservation contact Klondike Governor, Gary Treubig, gtbsa@optonline.net, by January 4, 2026. 

Junior Scouts may not have reached their 14th birthday AND have not yet reached Star rank.

Senior Scouts may not have reached their 18th birthday.

There is a separate category for Venture Crews (ages 14 to 20).

Sleds are mandatory.
