Workforce Innovation Merit Badge Center

8:30 am - 3:30 pm
$10 per session / $20 for all day session
Earn your merit badge choice of Composite Materials, Electricity, or Welding at this workshop.
Composite Materials is all day. Electricity and Welding will be offered in both the morning or afternoon sessions.
PREREQUISITES:
Composite Materials: Read the merit badge book thoroughly and be familiar with the information.
-Complete requirements 2, 4, and 6.
-Fill out the worksheet as much as possible. The Scout can use it during the review process at the end of the merit badge session.
-Our focus for the day will be to complete the projects and present an overview of the information with experts on hand. Scouts should take notes as they can use that information in addition to the information in the merit badge book and what they discover in their research during the final review.
Each Scout should bring the following:
-The Merit Badge book -Paper and pencil -The merit badge workbook, available online (meritbadge.org)
Electricity: Read pamphlet and be ready to show/explain #1a-e; #2; #9a
Welding: They will focus on MIG welding. Read pamphlet and be ready to show/explain #1a & b; #2a-c; #3; #4; They should complete 5a based on MIG welding.
Scouts will have an opportunity to tour the facility and work with Boeing professionals and staff of the St. Louis Community College while learning about career opportunities in the STEM fields.
