2025 Den Chief Training-SEMO

Saturday, August 23rd
Location is SEMO
The Den Chief Program is a key means of building relationships between the Cub Scout pack and the Scout troop. A den chief is a Scout who assists a Cub Scout den leader at den and pack meetings and other Scouting events. A valuable source of guidance, skills, songs, and games, the den chief encourages the Scouts in their advancement and shares their enthusiasm for Scouting with the den.
A den chief mentors Cub Scouts while acquainting them with the world of Scouting, its outdoor activities, trips, summer camp, and opportunities for advancement. When it’s time for them to move up to a Webelos den or a Scout troop, they will find guidance and help with the transition from the den chief.
Den Chief Training is the perfect course for enthusiastic Scouts who desire a leadership role and are interested in working with younger Scouts.
Who should attend:
Youth Troop/Crew Members wanting to serve as Den Chiefs
Den Leaders and CubMasters from Packs to learn HOW to use Den Chiefs
Troop Adult Leaders who will guide/support Den Chiefs
We welcome all Scouts interested in growing and becoming a Den Chief, but remember that a Scout must be mature enough to handle the position.
Although the conference is designed primarily to explain the Den Chief's role in supporting a Den Leader, All Den Leaders are STRONGLY encouraged to attend this valuable learning experience. Den Leaders and CubMasters would benefit from the event by obtaining a better understanding of how to utilize Den Chiefs in den and pack operations.
Fees: $20.00 for scouts, $10.00 for adults.
