2025 Celebration Event (Venturing + Sea Scouts)

Time: 2pm (check-in), 2:30pm (ceremony), 3:30pm (fellowship)

Salem in Ballwin United Methodist Church, 14825 Manchester Rd., 63011

Theme: Masquerade

You are encouraged to bring family, friends, and prospective Venturers & Sea Scouts to this event. 

If you have an award recipient that you haven't submitted yet, please get that information to awards@venturing.gslac.org by April 15th. That way we have time to add them to the script. (Check below if your unit should be providing the award for the actual presentation.)

 

We will recognize the recipients this year of:

 

  • Venturing Discovery and Pathfinder (Unit Provided)
  • Sea Scout Ordinary and Apprentice (Unit Provided)
  • Sea Scout Quartermaster (Let us know if you already have the award)
  • Venturing Summit (Let us know if you already have the award)
  • Venturing Leadership Award (Council Provided)
  • Sea Scout Leadership Award (Council Provided)
  • VSOA Outstanding Service Award (Council Provided)

 

Program:

  • 1:30pm: Presenters and Event Staff Arrival
  • 2:00-2:20pm: Check-in
  • 2:30-3:30pm: Award/Rank Recognition Ceremony
  • 3:30pm-4:30pm: Fellowship Hour and Appetizers/Desserts
  • 4:00pm: Masquerade Mask Competition
  • 4:15pm: Masquerade Costume Competition

Pricing: 

Early Bird: $20 by April 15th

Regular: $23 by May 4th

Late: $25 by May 15th

 

Attire: Venturing & Sea Scouting Uniforms are always appropriate (field uniform or crew designated uniform). After the ceremony, if you wish to participate in the masquerade costume competition there will be places to change.

A basic mask will be provided to all guests for the fellowship hour. If you want to participate in the mask competition, you should bring your own mask that you have made ahead of the event. Masks purchased directly from a store (with no creative editions from you) will not be entered into the competition. 

Costume competition: There are several styles of masquerades, Phantom of the Opera, Mardi Gras, etc. Make sure your costume is Scout appropriate.
