Cost: $10 per Scout (includes patch + scenic train ride) (adults $5 - Train Ride Only)

Earn the Full Railroading Merit Badge
Scouts will complete all requirements of the Railroading Merit Badge in a single, hands-on session at the historic Wabash, Frisco & Pacific Railroad (WF&P) — a volunteer-run live steam railroad founded in 1939.
What We’ll Cover (Merit Badge Requirements Overview)
Safety: Operation Lifesaver training—how to stay safe around tracks and trains.
History & Careers: How railroads shaped America; railroading as both a career and a hobby.
Rail Equipment & Terms: Locomotives, rolling stock, railroad jobs—seen up close at WF&P.
Track & Signaling: How track is built/maintained; switches, signals, and timetables.
Hands-On Railfanning:
Explore WF&P’s railroad and historical displays
Ride the live steam train along the Meramec River
Photograph or digitally record rail equipment and discuss the site’s historic significance with your counselor
Shop Tours: Guided behind-the-scenes tours of locomotive and car maintenance/restoration.
What to Bring
Blue Card: Digital blue cards will be issued; bring a paper blue card only if your unit requires one.
Notebook & pen/pencil
Camera/phone with parent or guardian permission (for documentation)
Weather-appropriate clothing & closed-toe shoes
Water bottle
