Earn the Full Energy Merit Badge
Scouts will complete all requirements for the Energy Merit Badge during a hands-on clinic hosted by Spire.
This clinic explores how energy is produced, transported, and used, while giving Scouts the opportunity to learn from energy professionals and complete the merit badge requirements.
Merit Badge Requirements Covered
- Discussion on the use and/or conservation of energy
- How energy is converted to power everyday devices
- Energy efficiency aspects from energy moving through a system
- How to conduct an at home energy audit and complete upgrades to mitigate energy lost
- Energy industry trends locally, nationally and worldwide
- Type of energy with pros/cons
- Careers in energy
What to Bring
Energy merit badge prerequisites:
- (a) With your parent or guardian's permission, use the internet to find a blog, podcast, website, or an article on the use or conservation of energy. Be prepared to discuss during the clinic what details in the article were interesting to you, the questions it raises, and what ideas it addresses that you do not understand.
