Ameren Skills Day!

Thanks to the Ameren Corporation, we will have an enriching Scouts BSA workshop in Decatur, Illinois.

All three Badges will be worked on at this workshop - American Business, Traffic Safety, and Truck Transportion for Scouts BSA youth.

Cost is $12 per Scout. Free for adults.  Light snacks around noon.    

Scouts must be in the care of an adult at all times. (This is not a drop off program.) 

8:00 - Check in

8:15 – Post Colors 

8:20 – Kickoff discussion / Safety Briefing

8:35 – Breakout into groups and movement to instructional areas

8:45 – Begin Instruction

10:15 – Rotate Classes / Break

10:30 – Begin instruction

12:00 – All badges completed    

12:00 – 1:00 – Complete tour

Program will include badge review time and special behind the scenes tours - chaperones can join in too!

Prereqs:  (MB workbook links available below)

American Business - Scouts should read the material and should fill out the workbook in preparation for the meeting/discussion.  Somre research is required for #5 in the workbook "Choose a business and research how it applies each of the primary areas of business (accounting, finance, economics, marketing, and management). Share what you have learned with your counselor." For number 6b " Select a business leader and interview this individual to learn more about his or her company and career path. Discuss the role ethics plays in making business decisions. Be prepared with question to ask your counselor on this." .   Be familiar with the all the requirements and download booklet to write in your prereqs. .  

Traffic Safety - Scouts should complete requirements 1 a b c d.   The other requirements will be discussed at the workshop.   Be familiar with the all the requirements and download booklet to write in your prereqs.   

Truck Transportation - Scouts should complete requirements 1, 2 a b c, 3, 5 a b, 6, 7, 8 a b c d, and 9. Be familiar with the all the requirements and download booklet to write in your prereqs.  Requirements 4 and 10 will be done on sight.
