2024 Boone Trails Fishing Clinic

Event Details

2024 Boone Trails Fishing Clinic

Date: August 10, 2024

Location: August A Busch Lake Number 2, and Lake Number 15.

Time: Check-in from 8:00-8:30, event expected to end at 12:00.

The Fishing Clinic is designed to teach the Cub Scouts basic fishing skills, and to teach adult leaders instruction techniques.  In addition, Scouts will have the opportunity to engage with the Cub Scouts as a Den Chief using the EDGE method to reinforce the skills the Cub Scouts were taught and to earn requirement 2 of the Complete Angler Award.

The scouts will be moving from station to station learning fishing skills, and conservation knowledge.  Scouts will walk away with a scout made lure (Crafts), and scout assembled tackle box.  After each station the scouts will use those taught skills and knowledge to fish such as Casting, Knots, Baiting a Hook, Conservation, and First Aid.  Anyone registered will get an event patch.

Scouts are encouraged to register a friend to bring along that has an interest in being part of scouting as a Cub Scout.  This is a great recruiting event.

Youth are encouraged to provide their own rod and reel, and tackle box.  No worries if your scout does not have them, we will have a limited number of loaners.

Some Cub Scout Adventure requirements can be earned during this event.
