Welcome to the GSLAC 2023 National Scout Jamboree page!  The National Jamboree is Scouting’s flagship event and is one-of-a-kind. Join 40,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia to experience everything from one of the longest zip lines in North America, a world-class skate park, all-terrain vehicles, treetop canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, stadium shows, and much more! Held every four years, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for everyone to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place.  Your Scout may have been to the Summit Bechtel Reserve, but they have not experienced the awesomeness of the Jamboree.

The National Jamboree will be held at the Bechtel Summit July 19-28, 2023.  We are looking at options to do some touring prior to the start of the Jamboree, so the leaving date may change. 

We want your Scout or Venturer to experience this once in a lifetime event.  The National Jamboree application is coming, but this has not been posted online yet.  When it is, we will let everyone know and how to fill the application out.

Cost
We are not sure on the total costs this time around as National has not released the Jamboree fees, but we would expect the total cost to be around $2,300.  Once we have this information, we will put together an all-in-one price will include the Jamboree fee, transportation, uniform, touring, class-b shirts, patches and any other equipment needs.    We will have a $250 deposit requirement that will be paid at the time of filling out the application.  More information to follow on this area.

Troop & Crew Leadership

We are actively seeking those interested in Jamboree troop or crew leadership.  There are traditionally a Scoutmaster, three Assistant Scoutmasters, and 36 Scouts in a Troop.  Crews consist of Two leaders and 8 Venturers.  We are planning to have both boy and girl troops on this trip.  If you want to apply for this position, please click here.  All of the requirements are listed on this page.  If you have questions on leadership, you can contact the GSLAC Jamboree Committee Chair, Mr. Rob Smith, at eaglescoutrob@gmail.com.
