Southern Illinois 6th Annual MBU

Event Details

The Greater  St Louis Area  Council,  Egyptian,  Black Gold   and  Big Muddy    Districts  welcome   you   to   their  Sixth   Annual   Merit  Badge  University (MBU)  Saturday, 3 November  from  8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.   It will be  open  to all scouts within  the  Greater  St  Louis  Area  Council and area Councils.    All merit  badges  offered  will  be  conducted and   supervised by a BSA approved  merit  badge  counselor.   The  proper  attire  for  all scouts  is Class   A  Uniform  unless otherwise   designated   as   part  of  the merit  badge requirements.

The Merit Badge University cost is  only  $5!  An MBU  patch will   be    included as   part   of  that  fee for   all participating scouts.  Additional   patches  will be sold separately for $5. Lunch will  be offered separately as  a fundraiser for the local Troop and Pack  7140  for $5. Each merit badge session will be limited to 15-20 scouts at the discretion of the merit   badge counselor on a  first come, first serve basis.   Online registrations will end at Midnight, Wednesday, October 31, 2018.  However, registrations will be taken at the event on a first-come, first-served basis, provided there are still openings in the requested class.

As  part of our MBU, we will also be offering  Youth  Protection Training   (YPT)  for adult leaders, Den Chief training for scouts, and interaction with the GSLAC STEM     lab/trailer when not attending a merit badge session.

 The  primary event  will take  place  at  the   Community   of  Faith  Church.The  Fishing and  Swimming Merit Badges will be conducted at  nearby John A  Logan College and will require personal transportation.

12:00- 12:30 pm          Lunch A

12:30-1:00 pm             Lunch B for   all   day   sessions

1:00-4:00 pm               Session II

4:00-4:30 pm               Closing  Session
