2025 Southern Illinois Fun with Cubs (Cub Launch)
Cub Scouts, siblings, families, and interested potential scouts are welcome to join us for our 2025 Fun with Cubs at Pine Ridge. This is a weekend event where a Cub Scout can experience all things Cub Scouting including shooting sports, STEM experiments, crafts, nature exploration, and so much more! Every Cub Scout will have the opportunity to earn their Bobcat adventure as well! It's the first advancement a Cub Scout can get. This event is perfect for brand new Cub Scouts, as well as seasoned Cub Scouts who want to spend a fun weekend Scouting!
WHEN & WHERE: October 3 - 5, 2025 @ Pine Ridge Scout Camp, 1139 Pine Ridge Ln, Makanda, IL 62958
COSTS: (Includes program)
- Cub Scouts and Siblings (5yrs and older) - $10 (includes patch)
- New joining Scouts - $5 (includes patch)
- Any additional individuals attending - $5

CAMPING: You are encouraged to camp Friday and Saturday nights, but you MUST indicate when you register if you are planning on camping. All must adhere to guidelines for Cub Scout Camping and Safeguarding Youth Policies.
FUN ACTIVITIES: We will be having all sorts of fun activities with our Halloween themed Haunted Hallow Walk Saturday evening and a campsite decorating contest for the campsite that has the best Halloween themed décor.
TRADING POST: Pine Ridge's Trading Post will be open throughout the event with merchandise and snacks! There will be a limited supply of Fun with Cub shirts and event patches available to purchase as well.
WHAT TO BRING: Pine Ridge is a primitive camp with camping only in tents. If you plan to camp, you need your own tents and gear, as well as food and cooking equipment. If you are only participating in the Saturday activities, eat breakfast before you come, but bring lunch and dinner or food and cooking equipment to prepare your meals. Be prepared for any type of weather. Last but most certainly not least, bring your family and your Scouting spirit!
There are few showers and flushable toilets on site.
VEHICLES: If you plan to drive to your campsite, you MUST unload your gear and immediately drive your car back to the parking lot. Please reach out to the Camp Director if you need handicap parking or arrangements made to keep your vehicle in site.There is a parking lot available to everyone at the front of Pine Ridge before going through the metal gate. NO VEHICLES ARE PERMITTED IN CAMP DURING THE SATURDAY ACTIVITIES.
