2018 Cub Launch

Event Details

*****WALK INS ARE WELCOME AT THE EVENT*****

 

Cub Launch is a one day event where a Cub Scout can experience all things Cub Scouting including fishing, shooting sports, STEM experiments, community guest presenters, and much more! New this year... every Cub Scout will have the opportunity to earn their Bobcat requirement! The first advancement a Cub Scout can get. This event is perfect for brand new Cub Scouts as well as Cub Scouts who want to spend a fun Saturday Scouting!

 

WHO: Cub Scouts and Siblings $10 (the whole family is invited!) 

WHAT: Activities include, fishing, BB guns, archery, slingshots, STEM experiments, hiking, earn the Bobcat Badge, horseback riding, campfire cooking, and much more! (each location's activities are subject to change)

All locations will be set up open-house style so families can come and go as they please. Stay for a couple hours or the entire time, whatever is best for you.

  • Beaumont Scout Reservation: Saturday, September 29 from 9AM to 3PM

  • Camp Vandeventer (Kaskaskia): Saturday, September 29 from 9AM to 4PM
  • Wentzville United Methodist Church (Boone Trails): Saturday, September 29 from 9AM to 1PM
  • Cape Girardeau (Jackson City Park): Saturday, September 29 from 9AM to 1PM 
  • O'Fallon IL Sportsman Club (St. Clair): Saturday, September 29 from 9AM to 3PM

  • Ozark Trail Blazers (Swift Base): Saturday, October 6 from 9AM to 1PM​ 
  • Camp Joy (Black Gold): Saturday, October 6 from 9AM to 1PM
  • Camp Warren Levis (Piasa Bird & Cahokia Mounds): Saturday, October 13 from 9AM to 12PM 

Helpful Tips

Who do we register? Only register children for this event. Siblings are welcome to participate, but any siblings younger than 6 years old may be limited as to which activities they can do. If they would like to receive a patch or participate in activities, you will need to register.

Trading Post: There will be a scout trading post available for you to purchase lunch items such as hamburgers, hotdogs, and pizza as well as cool scouting shirts and scout gadgets! Lunch items range from $2-$4 an item, and scout gear ranges from $2-$20.

PATCHES! All registered scouts and siblings will receive a Cub Launch patch.

What should we bring: The family! Closed toe shoes, water bottle, snack, extra change of clothes (if you think you’ll get muddy in mud cave!),  sunscreen, and bug spray

Parking: Parking will be available in the field across from the entrance to Beaumont. Only handicap parking will be available on the property.
