This is an orienteering event helps fulfill the orienteering requirement #4A for First Class Scout Rank.  Registration is intended to be pre-event to ensure enough maps are printed.  Additionally, registration is designed to be performed by unit leaders attending the event, with the unit leaders entering (registering) all of their Scouts' names.  Throughout this event, Scouts must be under the supervision of their unit leaders for their safety and confirmation of successful completion of the requirement.  Special Note:  If only one family is participating from a unit, they could register as the leader for their unit and enter their family scout's name(s), with that family maintaining supervision of their Scouts throughout the event.  Scouts should show up prepared for the event, with instruction/training in orienteering before the start likely being very limited depending on the availability of the Map & Compass / Orienteering Committee staff.
