Individual Scouting America adults may register for 1 FREE ride on the Beaumont Challenge Course’s 600 foot zip line.
No cost but must register in advance
20 slots available
Here’s what you need to know:
- 250 lbs weight limit
- wear clothing for weather
- must wear long pants & hiking or athletic shoes for ½ hour strenuous walk up hill to challenge course & zip line
- meet at 1pm at the gravel parking lot of the Sverdrup campsite at Beaumont Scout Res. and we will hike up from there with a guide. You’ll walk right through the low and high challenge course. (you might have to endure a tour guide on the hike thru the courses). We think we’ll finish around 4pm.
-all climbing gear provided, no personal climbing harnesses
-you will climb a 30’ aluminum construction ladder tied up to zip perch; you won’t have to traverse the entire high challenge course to start the zip ride or climb the regular hard-to-climb caving ladder on the course. You’ll be on a belay line while climbing the ladder.
*call if you have any questions about how strenuous the hike or zip line is
*If you can’t make the zip ride at the last minute call Terry Pogue, # below, so we can open the slot for someone else
