2026 Kaskaskia Cub Camp Freedom Fest

Event Details

An extravaganza of Cub Scout Activities for all scouts, friends, and siblings entering 1st - 5th grade.
Activities include Range and Target Activities - BB shooting, slingshot and Archery. Which team of older Cubs can cut through the log the most by using a 2-man saw? There will be leather working, sand art, and other crafts. King Triton will be overseering water events such as the midwest alpine slide, the maze of sprinkle, water kickball and douse the cubs via a Fire Truck.  Team sports such as tug of war and obstacle relay races in addition to the Director of Sizzle who will help each rank prepare a song, skit and run-on for the camp's campfire Saturday evening at 7 pm.  Sunday will consist of a Scouts' Own service, followed by Cub's Choice (select from a variety of options), Flag etiquette (folding, ceremony, history) followed by a flag retirement ceremony which will lead into the closing camp ceremony.

Registration/check-in is from 8-9 on Friday Jun 12, Sat Jun 13 and Sun Jun 14

Camp hours are 9-5 on Friday, 9 am-8 pm on Saturday and 9 am-noon on Sunday

                                          Lunches provided on Friday and Saturday

                                          Supper provided on Saturday

            Going into 1st or Tiger (Must have Adult accompany)

            Going into 5th or AOL

All Tigers must have an adult partner per Scouting America policy.  All other ranks must have 1 adult for every 4 Cubs.

Adult cost is:

1 Day: $5

2 Day: $10

3 Day: $15

 

Additionally, any PACK that wants to camp the duration of Camp Freedom Fest is welcome to do so pending they have at least one adult who is BALOO trained or partner with another pack that is willing to "co-camp".  If your Pack is planning to camp, please let Nancy Anderson know so she can reserve your site with Camp Vandeventer.  Packs will setup the afternoon of Thursday June 11 and be responsible for all meals that are not provided by Camp Freedom Fest.

Another GREAT OPPORTUNITY-   Sign up for BALOO Training (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) This course will start on the evening of Friday Jun 12 and end Saturday Jun 13 before noon.  This group will be creating the Campfire Program for the Camp Freedom Fest Campfire later that evening.  All learners are invited to stay and join the camp for Supper (prepared by our very own chef!) and attend the Campfire!
