The Annual District Recognition Dinner presents a wonderful opportunity to socialize as volunteers as well as celebrate successes from the past year.  All adult leaders in the New Horizons District are invited to attend.

Program Starts – 6:30 PM

Dinner, prepared by our District Quartermaster Corps, is smoked brisket, potatoes, green beans, salad, and a roll. A vegetarian option is available. For any other dietary needs or restrictions, please email us before registering and we will do our best to accommodate.

The deadline to nominate an individual for the Spark Plug Award or District Award of Merit (recipients for both awards are recognized at the dinner) is Friday, December 5.

Spark Plug Award

The annual Spark Plug Award is an award for an adult in a Pack, Troop, or Crew who, through his/her constant efforts, is a driving force in the unit. It is an award for those who might not otherwise be recognized at the district level for their contributions to their units.

District Award of Merit (Horizon Award)

The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts in the same manner that the Silver Beaver is a national award presented by councils. The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.
