AKELA CUB WEEKEND - Let's Get Spooky
Bring your best costume. Enjoy some spooky games and crafts. Take your best shot at BB and Archery. Can you make it to the top corner of the boulder wall? Take a trip down the spooky trail or maze. Tons of fun awaits you at this year's Akela Cub Weekend as we Get Spooky! Leaders and parents, how about a cookoff???
Check-in will be at the shooting sports building and will begin at 4:00 Friday afternoon and go until 7:30 PM. Once it begins getting dark, the gates will close and vehicles will not be allowed to enter camp. Our recommendation is to have families pack whatever gear they can in the pack trailer. If a pack trailer shows up after the gates are closed but before check-in ends, a staff member will escort them to the campsite.
Check-in Saturday morning will be just before the main parking lot and will begin at 7:30 AM and go until 8:15 AM. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter camp Saturday morning. Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:30 AM. Program will begin at 9:00 AM.
Registration cost is $15 per person or $60 for a family of 4 or more. Late fee will begin Friday, October 10, at 12 AM. Registration will close at 5 PM on Tuesday, October 14.
Troop scouts and adults serving as staff will complete registration as staff.
YOUTH PROTECTION | CUB SCOUT CAMPING REQUIREMENT: Cub Scout parents or legal guardians taking part in an overnight Cub Scout program with their own child or legal ward are not required to register as leaders. All adults must review the “How to Protect your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide” that can be found in the front of each Cub Scout Handbook. In addition, the parent or legal guardian must be accompanied by a registered leader at any time they are with youth members other than their own child/ward. All other overnight adults must be currently registered in an adult fee-required position.
