Pre-Camp Swim Tests 2023 (MCC)

Conducting Pre-camp Swim Checks can insure quicker check in for units during the first day of Summer Camp. Pre-camp Swim Checks can also identify weak swimmers and give them a chance to improve their swimming skills before summer camp. To better assist our Units attending any Resident Camp in 2023 – the Michigan Crossroads Council is offering testing options from 10:00am – 4:00pm at the following locations on the following dates:
Cole Canoe Base | June 3 |
Camp Rotary | June 17 |
Gerber Scout Reservation | June 17 |
D-bar-A Scout Ranch | June 24 |
Traditionally swim tests are completed at summer camp. The Aquatics Director at the summer camp can accept swim test classifications from a Michigan Crossroads Council approved pre-camp swim check location. Conducting pre-camp swim tests improperly can put both youth and adults in danger during the test and at summer camp. The Aquatics Directors at all of our MCC summer camps reserve the right to retest any Scout or Adult for any reason.
A MCC Swim Test Verification Form will be provided to units that complete a pre-camp swim test. This form will need to be collected upon your arrival to camp. Failure to turn in the form will result in your unit needed to be retested at camp as part of your check-in process.
For this event, you will register as a UNIT and will not need individual names of attendees. Each camp will also have a limited number of testing times - units will choose from the times available as part of their registration. Units are not required to complete their swim test at the camp that they will be attending.
